In spite of their apparently fragile beauty, AVOOVA ostrich eggshell products are very resilient and should give many years of pleasure. However, they may get damaged if dropped or struck with a heavy or sharp object.

The surface of the eggshell veneer is water resistant and will withstand normal domestic hot and cold temperatures and, where appropriate, is treated and sealed for the service of food.

AVOOVA products can be cleaned with a damp cloth, dipped in warm soapy water, or polished with normal furniture polish.

• They should never be immersed in water for any length of time.
• Avoid any contact with solvents.
• Never put an AVOOVA piece in a dish washing machine.
• Avoid leaving in direct sunlight for extended periods.

Aluminium does not readily tarnish, however, if for some reason it has lost some lustre, it can be easily revitalised by use of good silver polish. The sterling silver inlays may tarnish but can be easily restored with silver polish. DO NOT USE BRASS POLISH or coarse fabrics to polish.

Aluminium is not dishwasher or microwave safe. We recommend that dry foodstuffs only are served in the bowls/platters.

The following maintenance guidelines are supplied with each product:

“After use, rinse in warm, soapy water and use a soft cloth to remove food residue. Dry immediately to avoid watermarks. Do not allow food, water or liquid to be left on the product after use. Never use liquid or powder bleach, abrasive pad or wire wool, or allow water to stand in a bowl for a long time, as this can tarnish, scratch or damage it”.
